NEW ORLEANS — In this Healio Video Perspective from the ARVO meeting, Kevin LaMarche discusses thermal tissue temperature modeling for two transscleral therapies for glaucoma.

According to LaMarche, MicroPulse transscleral laser therapy does not reach the core tissue temperatures that may cause tissue injury in the ciliary body compared with continuous wave transscleral cyclophotocoagulation.

"By coming up with a thermal model that looks at all of the absorptive factors known by those qualities of tissues, we can help to visualize what that thermal insult is going to look like and hopefully help clinicians to be better able to plan for their treatments and truly understand what those treatments are doing within the tissue," he said.
